I found out just over a week ago that an older first cousin had died suddenly. Although, they had lived a long life, a lot of it was marred with sadness. She had six children, one of whom is deceased who are grieving deeply for their matriarch. For one reason or another, some of her children and I had lost touch, however, this tragedy has renewed our relationship. On calling my cousin’s second oldest child, I had a feeling of tremendous family love. Even during this sad time, we were able to joke about some things. We have vowed to continue the relationship and celebrate life, as it is too short. There has been talk of meeting up and I hope that this happens, as during all the darkness, there is a lot of light around.
Life should not only be lived, it should be celebrated.
